Most people probably start at the beginning of the story, but I’m not most people and my story starts today. We can rehash the past later.

So, who am I today? The short version—I’m a 33 year old divorceé (that sounds fancy so I’ll keep it), mother of two young’ns, and business owner. That’s just surface level, though. There’s a lot more to me and if I manage to keep up with this new blogging adventure you’ll get to know me better. That is, if you’re interested.

I was gifted a mantra. After the birth of my second baby the stress of motherhood and life in general felt overwhelming so I called my grandma to vent. You know what she told me? If you have to do it, that’s all there is to it. The truth of those words has stayed in my mind everyday since. That mantra has carried me through some of the hardest times of my life. Those moments when the weight of the world is on your shoulders and you don’t know if you can carry it all. Sometimes the only option is to push through, and when you get to such a point remember what my grandma said. Trust me (trust yourself!), you can figure it out.

I have spent my life “figuring it out”. Even when I didn’t realize it. You know, I don’t think we give ourselves enough credit. There is a keen awareness of self worth about me now. All the trials life has thrown my way, all the happy moments…they have brought me to a place of peace because I chose to learn from them and grow.

Today, I am just like you. A person figuring it out. One sentence spoken by my grandma impacted my life in a profound way. I’ll pass it on to my children, and their children, and so on down the line. Perhaps, I can pass it on to you, too.
